John Trones is a Minneapolis native and a familiar face on the theatre and music scene. He has spent much of the past 10 years touring and sharing his music with audiences across the Unites States and throughout Asia and Europe. Since 1999 he has toured with singer Olivia Newton-John and recording artist Jim Brickman, performing in Jim Brickman's Holiday Tour and as a guest vocalist with the Toledo Symphony at their Millennium concert.
John’s professional theatrical productions include; Oklahoma, Brigadoon, The Pajama Game, Boy, Oh Boy, Debbie Does Dallas the Musical, 3 Way, End of the World Party, Twilight of the Golds, Corpus Christi, Jeffrey, Party, Godspell, Twelfth Nightand most recently 1940’s Radio Hour. As a co-founder of the Twin Cities theatre/production company 8 Ball Theatre, he and his business partner Jon Mikkelsen have mounted the nostalgic and highly successful holiday show The 1940’s Radio Hour for the last two years at the Hennepin Stages Theatre. Last November Trones and Mikkelsen traveled to London for the UK premiere of their original script, 3 Way, which played to rave reviews here in the Twin Cities last summer. John has written and produced his signature holiday show, John Trones, Christmas in the City, for the past six years every December at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis, and that show is set to return again this year with special guest, Jim Brickman. Trones has released four albums (Forward, Holiday, Romance, Joy) on the Metropolis Music label and is currently working on his fifth release. John’s television and film credits include spots for Slumberland, Target, Great Clips, Time Warner, television series Paradise Inn, and films Father Knows Best, Homo Heights and Street Hassle.
